She/her

As a senior executive with over 20 years’ experience in policy and change, my drive comes from work that involves understanding complex public policy challenges, synthesising evidence and information, and working with stakeholders to achieve practical and effective solutions. I am passionate about diversity in leadership and governance and I live these values in my work and life. As a leader I am respected for my strategic thinking and decision making; and developing and maintaining a positive team culture. In my board roles, I am valued by peers for my collegiate nature, my governance skills, critical thinking, knowledge and understanding of Government and effective policy implementation,.

Alison provided advice on considerations when putting together a board, how to identify potential directors, and examples of organisations and relevant documents (constitutions, board charters etc) so that PFLGA didn't need to start from scratch.

Instead of feeling overwhelmed by a task we don't know how to do, Alison gave us ideas and thoughts on how to manage this piece by piece. Pride by Side is a really important initiative. Running a NFP organisation or charity can be overwhelming and it's great to know that there is help and mentoring that can be drawn on.
